MKPUSA WTF: I AM the “Unheard”


At the last MKPUSA town hall meeting there was a character on the zoom call named “Unheard”.

Anticipating that the Q and A would go on in the chat section as in other Town Halls, it seemed he was prepared to hold court in the chat while the speaker carried around what he had done, why he (we) were doing it , and eventually turning the Town Hall into a retirement event as he surprisingly quit in the middle of conflict, having done the best he could under the circumstances.

The unheard character continued to pose quite a few poignant questions and comments in the chat until the moderator asked the person to stop declaring “No Crosstalk” to which the Unheard responded “Whiteboy owns the Forum” or something to that effect.

To me it seemed like the institution was trying to shut down feedback, so I immediately raised my hand to put in a response during the feedback session after the speaker was done. It was the first time I'd really spoken in any MKPUSA forum since being awarded a Rich Tosi award in 2019. As a result, I wound up on the phone late into the night connecting with people I hadn't spoken to in years who saw me on the zoom event.

One of the people I spoke to knew who Unheard was but that wasn’t the important thing.

That character in the chat touched off and impacted many of the people I spoke to that night and the next day. My wife explained to me also that there are many people who feel unheard by MKP USA, herself included. I spoke to an LKS lead man who admitted that he felt unheard, another who woke up with a lot of regret and commented to me that the Unheard woke him up to the reality of what was going on in MKPUSA.

These commentaries are what helped me to finally begin work on this blog. Out of empathy I choose to take on the role of the Unheard and filter that sense and those feelings to this website.

Just as in the movie when everyone protected Spartacus by proclaiming that “I am Spartacus” I hereby declare myself to be the “Unheard” in process in order to route the passions of the collective unheard in MKPUSA.

Trying to eliminate an entire constituency for fear of a group of leaders giving an “all or nothing” ultimatum power play to the MKPUSA board combined with the boards fear of websites has given way to a certain sense of powerlessness that I wish to claim and convert into power.  It's too bad the board did not hear these people, many of them members. Instead, they are caving to the mob(s).

Editor's note: I want to reiterate That each one of these stories is in a sense exactly that: a story.  Unless a person has incredible imagination and can create alternative worlds, the stories usually have a grain of truth. I suppose if anyone takes my story personally, they might know of the grain of truth that they're reacting to.  Luckily within the intentional men's community most of what they know is that anything that comes out of another man's mouth is just projection on the first level therefore they are protected against even noticing that there is truth in the other man's statement. That has worked for us for 30 years in this community.   It allows us to closely guard our shadows and keep secrets.

    Sadly, I judge there are many that feel unheard but are afraid to speak out so they just leave

MKPUSA WTF: How Did We Get Here?

Mankind Project USA has changed, and not all for the better.  They are at the precipice of losing control of its members and constituencies over some misinformed usage of diversity concepts, shame and blame, and white fragility.  And now they have essentially cancelled 1/3 of their leadership on the weekend.
