MKPUSA WTF: Spirit Protection Group's Access and MKPUSA's Data Analytics


One of the questions the "Unheard" participant posed in the chat on last week's Town Hall was around the lack of security in MKPUSA's data.  In reading up on the issues around the outside group currently controlling MKPUSA and it's MKPUSA Leader Body, the group has issued certain threats that should concern all of us.

Whether it's our e-mail systems, Google docs, or direct access to every single warriors name and address and whether they, for instance, have disavowed their Animal Name through the MKP connect "find new warrior" function, it puts all of us at risk if we stay in denial of the impact of an outside entity either hacking our systems or relying on their allies from the inside to inform them and forward all of your emails and meeting minutes to an outside group.

Whether we made an overt commitment to confidentiality or I assumed the intentions of the man across from me, our digital data system is now at risk and it seems it has been for quite a while.

Digital is a new world. About 20 years ago a warrior came to the MKPI Project Council and proclaimed that our website was inadequate in so many words … I believe he said it looked like "Butt"...

IT in MKP has always represented approximately 30 to 50% of our annual budget with constant upgrades necessary to maintain security and capacity. They promise us that our security is safe in mkpusa.org, But this internal struggle has opened up the question of data security for the entire organization.

Around 2012 we also deferred a lot of our documentation to the Google Cloud, rather than use the discounted access to Microsoft security available to all non-profit organizations.  We share our documents in Google based on my need for you to see the document I share.  If I am not conscious of risk I may inadvertently share it with others I don't know, and if a man has chosen another allegiance, then he can just cut and paste all info into their email account and forward it to our detractors.

That Man 20 years ago knew something that a lot of us didn't. Data analytics is the key to online success. With enough data we can track progress on any given number of projects, track activities of any of us in the system, make predictions on how successful a promotion might be, get reports on overall progress of any data-driven activity or project.  Data equals Money.

MKPUSA can also directly advertise to warriors who seemed to be responsive to participating in the system, as well as sell access to like-minded training vendors who want to advertise their training through the broadcast system.  

Please note that if you get broadcasts you can always opt out, but even that is a data point in the system as is every word you write into the insecure MKPCONNECT email system. 

Because other regions in the mankind project do not have this kind of IT budget they can also freely register themselves in MKPCONNECT. Whatever the number is whether we've initiated 50,000, 75000, 90,000 initiates, the point is a lot of it starts on the website.   Your information might be in there. My information is definitely in there. So what do we do with that?

Maybe we can have another MKPUSA Town Hall that can assure us.  I would love to see a leader show up and take some responsibility for this. 

Everything I write in MKPCONNECT essentially becomes MKPUSA intellectual property and part of the MKPUSA data lake, available for high level analysis when necessary or subpoenaed.  I offer this to the collective data sphere in the sincere hope for security and change. Feel free to forward to anyone whose name might be in MKPCONNECT.

Consider that ANY response to this post in MKPCONNECT's email system may represent recalcitrance to our antagonists and may subject MKPUSA to undue hardship as they comply with their demands.

Editor's note: I want to reiterate That each one of these stories is in a sense exactly that: a story.  Unless a person has incredible imagination and can create alternative worlds, the stories usually have a grain of truth. I suppose if anyone takes my story personally, they might know of the grain of truth that they're reacting to.  Luckily within the intentional men's community most of what they know is that anything that comes out of another man's mouth is just projection on the first level therefore they are protected against even noticing that there is truth in the other man's statement. That has worked for us for 30 years in this community.   It allows us to closely guard our shadows and keep secrets.

MKPUSA WTF: How Did We Get Here?

Mankind Project USA has changed, and not all for the better.  They are at the precipice of losing control of its members and constituencies over some misinformed usage of diversity concepts, shame and blame, and white fragility.  And now they have essentially cancelled 1/3 of their leadership on the weekend.
